Dr. Herman Suit, a pioneering giant in Radiation Oncology, died on July 2, 2022, at the age of 93. He is survived by a vast legacy of leaders in clinical and research fields of Radiation Oncology, especially Radiation Biology and Physics.

Herman, born in Houston, Texas, in 1929, was a gifted student. He completed high school in less than three years and repeated this feat at the University of Houston, graduating with a BA in Biology in little more than two. He then moved to Baylor College of Medicine, where he received his MD degree and an MSc in Biochemistry. While at Baylor, he demonstrated a deep passion for physics, that ran alongside his interests in medicine and biochemistry. He took summer courses in atomic and nuclear physics at the University of Texas at Austin. Thus, it is no surprise that he ultimately chose to specialize in the new field...
