Dr. Herman Suit, a pioneering giant in Radiation Oncology, died on July 2, 2022, at the age of 93. He is survived by a vast legacy of leaders in clinical and research fields of Radiation Oncology, especially Radiation Biology and Physics.
Herman, born in Houston, Texas, in 1929, was a gifted student. He completed high school in less than three years and repeated this feat at the University of Houston, graduating with a BA in Biology in little more than two. He then moved to Baylor College of Medicine, where he received his MD degree and an MSc in Biochemistry. While at Baylor, he demonstrated a deep passion for physics, that ran alongside his interests in medicine and biochemistry.
