A new possibility of using oxalic acid in H2 O and D2 O solutions as a chemical dosimeter is discussed. A simple logarithmic equation is used for the calculation of the absorbed dose in the range of 1.6 to 100 Mrads. A procedure for routine use of the dosimeter and calibration data for different radioactive cobalt units is presented.
