The effect of x-radiation on the incorporation of <tex-math>${}^{14}{\rm C}\text{-lysine}$</tex-math> into spleen, bone marrow and intestinal mucosa nuclear and cytoplasmic proteins was compared to its incorporation into the same group of proteins, in kidney, liver, and brain. The results demonstrate that x-radiation interferes with the incorporation of <tex-math>${}^{14}{\rm C}\text{-lysine}$</tex-math> into nuclear protein and to a lesser degree into cytoplasmic proteins of actively proliferating tissues only.
