Electron spin resonance spectroscopy was used to study radiation damage at 77°K in single crystals of L-threonine. The cation radical and two other free radicals are trapped at 77°K. The g tensor for the cation radical, is reported. The hyperfine tensors and g tensor are given for the free radical produced by deamination. Possible reaction mechanisms are suggested for the production of these free radicals.
