By lucky chance, there exists in Entlebuch, in the canton of Lucerne, a rich collection of photographs valuable for forest history. Modern photos are presented opposite the historical images to show the development of forests over the last 100 years. Intensive study of these photos has led the author to interesting discoveries. For this reason, he encourages today's practising foresters to document their own experiences in connection with the forest, for example through photographs.

Infolge glücklicher Umstände existiert im luzernischen Entlebuch eine umfangreiche Sammlung forsthistorisch wertvoller Fotografien. Um die Waldentwicklung in den vergangenen rund 100 Jahren zu untersuchen, wurden den historischen Bildern aktuelle Vergleichsfotografien gegenübergestellt. Die intensive Beschäftigung mit diesen Fotos hat dem Autor interessante Erkenntnisse beschert. Deshalb ermuntert er die aktiv tätigen Forstleute, die eigenen Erfahrungen im Umgang mit dem Wald vermehrt festzuhalten, zum Beispiel mithilfe von Fotografien.

En raison d'heureuses circonstances, il existe à Entlebuch, dans le canton de Lucerne, une importante collection de photos retraçant l'histoire forestière. Afin d'analyser le développement forestier au cours du dernier siècle, les photos historiques ont été comparées à des images récentes. L'étude intensive de ces photos a permis à l'auteur de faire des découvertes intéressantes. Pour cette raison, il encourage les forestiers actifs de documenter plus régulièrement leurs expériences de gestion forestière, par exemple à l'aide de photographies.
