Launched in 2014 as the official journal of the Particle Therapy Co-Operative Group, it is the mission of IJPT to provide a preferred venue for disseminating the most up-to-date information on the clinical, physical, and biological research in proton, light-ion, and heavy charged-particle therapy. Since its founding, IJPT has published articles by nearly 300 prominent radiation oncologists, physicists, and dosimetrists from 200 institutions around the world.

We invite papers from international authors knowledgeable in head and neck cancer management with particle therapy. The articles within the special issue will cover the following topics: Biology: Enhancements of Proton Therapy in Head and Neck Tumors, RBE, LET; Clinical: Indications, Level of Evidence, Clinical Trials; Physics: Treatment planning approaches, Monte Carlo robust optimization, Delivery, and quality assurance; and Health Policy: Value, Cost-effectiveness, NTCP Models, and Financial toxicity.
