Dr. Adam Holtzman Appointed IJPT Deputy Operations Editor

Adam L. Holtzman, MD, Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Florida, Jacksonville, was appointed Deputy Operations Editor of the International Journal of Particle Therapy on March 1, 2022.

In his new role, Dr. Holtzman (right) will lead IJPT’s editorial team and will work in collaboration with Editor-in-Chief, Nancy P. Mendenhall, MD, FASTRO, on journal direction and production. Dr. Holtzman will transition to Operations Editor on September 2.

“We are extremely pleased to welcome Adam to the IJPT team,” said Dr. Mendenhall. “His dedication to clinical care, his outstanding contributions to particle therapy research, and his demonstrated commitment to the mission of IJPT make him the ideal choice as Deputy Operations Editor.”

Dr. Holtzman specializes in proton therapy for base of skull, head and neck, and central nervous system malignancies. He received his undergraduate, medical, and residency training from the University of Florida. 

An established researcher, Dr. Holtzman’s work has been published in multiple peer-reviewed medical journals and presented at international conferences. A member of the Gold Humanism Honors Society, his awards include a Best of American Society for Radiation Oncology at the organization’s 57th Annual Meeting and a UF Outstanding Resident Educator Award. 

Since 2014, the International Journal of Particle Therapy has been recognized as a preferred venue for disseminating the most up-to-date information on the clinical, physical, and biological research in proton, light-ion, and heavy charged-particle therapy. IJPT leadership comprises physicians and physicists who are international researchers and practitioners of particle therapy, with multidisciplinary and geographically dispersed interests represented in the journal’s editorial board.
