A developmental approach is needed when delivering appropriate and accurate sex education to children and adolescents with spinal cord injuries (SCIs). Health care professionals are responsible for conveying this information in a positive and comprehensive way to the children and adolescents and/or the parents. This information can be utilized to help create a developmentally based outline regarding sexuality topics that should be addressed to the children and adolescents.
