Rate of isolation of nontuberculous mycobacteria (NTM) from wildlife species included in this study in Japan. The animals were hunted with traps by authorized hunters between June 2016 and October 2018 in Gifu Prefecture and Mie Prefecture, Japan. Fecal and tissue samples were collected at a game-handling establishment during gralloching (removal of the gut) and carcass inspection and subjected to NTM isolation using 2% Ogawa slant culture tube.
