Yields of strand breaks (SBs) (left panel), SSBs middle panel and DSBs (right panel) obtained in this work using our cylinder sector DNA model with single threshold of 17.5 eV for direct damage induction and P_int,backbone = 0.25; compared to results published by Kundrát et al. (57 ) using PARTRAC and Sakata et al. (20 ) using Geant4-DNA. Green shading (or the area left to the vertical dashed line) represents the LET range for protons and red shading (or the area right to the vertical dashed line) the LET range for alpha particles for all studies shown.
